President of the Republic of Moldova meets w the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė

The security risks caused by Russia's war in Ukraine, especially on the energy and economic sectors, and the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova were discussed during the meeting between the President Maia Sandu and the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Ingrida Šimonytė, who was on a working visit in Chisinau.

Maia Sandu emphasized that despite the energy crisis and the security risks brought by the war, the authorities are working on the recommendations of the European Union and are carrying out reforms in priority areas, such as justice. The head of state said that she continues to rely on Lithuania's support in our European journey, but also on files such as the liberalization of roaming tariffs with the European Union or the accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).

The parties also discussed the bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Lithuania, including in the fight against propaganda and disinformation, which developed with Russia's aggression in Ukraine and which threaten the security of our countries.
