Belarus and Russia would be the countries where the bomb alerts come from in the Republic of Moldova, said the head of the Executive Natalia Gavriliţa in a Special Edition from Radio Moldova. According to the prime minister, the Chisinau authorities are in the process of identifying some measures, so that the citizens are not evacuated by the law enforcement officers in the event of new threats with explosives.
Natalia Gavriliţa declared that those who try to destabilise the situation are afraid of justice reform and urged people to remain calm. "It is very clear that these alerts are intended to lower vigilance, to keep us busy, to test the reaction, that's why once again I urge people to remain calm and be in solidarity."
TRM.MD recalls that the General Prosecutor's Office is the body that investigates cases of bomb alerts. During the current year, dozens of false bomb alerts were registered in over 200 locations in the country.
The authorities have announced several measures, including restricting access to the airport terminal, which is only allowed to staff and passengers.
According to the criminal legislation, the person guilty of such crimes risks a fine from 27,500 to 42,500 lei, 240 hours of unpaid work for the benefit of the community or imprisonment of up to two years.
