Natalia Gavriliţa to the Minister of the Environment: "The website lemne.md should be functional by September 15"

Moldovans who heat with wood will be able to find out how they can purchase it on the website lemne.md or on the green line 080010101 which will be launched today. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 7.

"We need better organization and communication about the distribution of wood. We requested that the Green Line be operational by September 1 and we also talked about a website lemne.md. These would be tools through which people could inform themselves about this wood distribution process, and I understood that some town halls do not even know which forestry detour to address. It is an unacceptable situation, there must be more information", said Natalia Gavriliţa.

For his part, the Minister of the Environment reported that the Green Line will be launched today, and the website is being developed and will become functional in the next two weeks.

"The Green Line is technically functional, it will be launched today. The telephone number to which the mayors can be contacted is 0-800-10101. The supply of wood is done as it was done in previous years. The site is in the process of contracting the company that will develop it, the deadline is 2 weeks", said the Minister of the Environment, Iuliana Cantaragiu.

At the same time, the prime minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that the website has not been created so far and asked for it to be developed by September 15.

"With the website, you should know that it is not helping us in October. I don't know who is involved, and I understand that they have procedures, but talk to Mr. Turcanu. Let's do it, a volunteer does it in a day. I don't understand why we wait until it's too late. All things must be done on time, the information was useful during this period. Please let this be functional until September 15", added Gavriliţa.

The decision regarding the release of firewood was approved by the Extraordinary Situations Commission of the Republic of Moldova, considering the need to supply the population with firewood for the cold period of the year. Prices remain at last year's level: 550-875 lei per cubic meter for hard species (acacia, oak) and 350-475 lei per square meter for soft species. Initially, a limit of 3 cubic meters was established for a household, but later this was extended up to 5 cubic meters.
