Alexandrin Guţu obtained three victories at the "under 20" World Championships, which took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Moldovan fighter defeated opponents from Kazakhstan, India and Iran. In the semi-final, Guţu lost to an athlete from Turkey, and in the small final he had the Azerbaijani Khasay Hasanli.
German Deni Nakaev became the champion of Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category of 77 kilograms.
