Preliminary results CEC: In five localities the mayors were elected from the first ballot

Following the May 29 elections, held in ten localities in the Republic of Moldova, in five villages and communes the mayors were elected in the first round, according to preliminary data presented by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Radio Moldova reports.

According to the CEC, in Zăicani village, Râşcani district, Victor Tăbîrţa from the Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists obtained over 91% of the votes.

In Horodişte commune, Rezina district, Dorel Iurcu from the Political Party "Action and Solidarity Party" obtained 89.23%.

In the village of Tataresti, Straseni district, Vladimir Celeev Political Party "People's Power" won 64.53% of the vote.

In the village of Moara de Piatră, Drochia district, Valentina Bejenaru from the Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists obtained 63.84% of the votes.

In the village of Hagimus, Causeni district, Veaceslav Cucerovschi, the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova was elected mayor with 59.02% of the vote.

In accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Code, the candidate for mayor is considered elected if he / she has gathered more than half of the validly cast votes of the voters who participated in the voting.

Within two weeks, the second round will be held in Ghetlova commune, Orhei district, Zastânca village, Soroca district and Glinjeni village, Falesti district.

The CEC warns that all information provided until the original documents are received from the lower electoral bodies is of a preliminary nature.

TRM.MD recalls that yesterday, May 29, in ten localities in the country, new local elections took place. In eight of them they elected the mayor, in two other localities, elections were organized for the composition of the local councils.
