"Teleradio-Moldova" welcomes the resumption of broadcasting the public TV Channel Moldova 1 in the Transnistrian region
The "Teleradio-Moldova" Company confirms having information that at least two media service distributors (cable TV operators) in the eastern part of the country have taken over the signal of the public TV channel. We welcome the resumption of access for the population of this region to Moldova 1 programs after an absence of more than 30 years.
"Teleradio-Moldova" has received confirmation from multiple sources that the public broadcaster will be retransmitted on cable networks, and we consider this an important step for the direct benefit of the citizens of the region. This development contributes to strengthening links between the inhabitants on both banks of the Dniester, facilitating access to truthful information and a diversity of media content.
The public TV channel Moldova 1 will continue to provide quality editorial content in accordance with the highest professional standards. The population of the Transnistrian region will have access to a credible source of information, analysis, cultural and entertainment programs, broadcast in Romanian, Russian and other ethnic minority languages.
"Teleradio-Moldova" remains committed to efforts to expand its coverage throughout the Republic of Moldova and will examine the possibility of opening a correspondent point on the left bank of the Dniester in order to ensure a balanced and objective coverage of the realities in the region.
