Sculpture and graphics works displayed at "Constantin Brâncuşi" Gallery
Two artists and friends Constantin Constantinov, 75 and Gheorghe Zlobin, 70 organised an exhibition at the Gallery "Constantin Brancusi". Visitors have the chance to see valuable works of sculpture, painting and graphics for the first time, Moldova 1 TV reports.
"Two valuable artists, but less known in Moldova, Constantin Constantinov has been living in Moscow for several years, but he is also a member of the Union of Artists in Moldova and the Union of Artists in Russia. Gheorghe Zlobin is a good friend, one of Moldova's best-known book designers", said Dumitru Bolboceanu, president of the Union of Artists in Moldova.
Sculptor Constantin Constantinov is the son of late actors of the National Theater "Mihai Eminescu" Ecaterina Cazemirov and Constantin Constantinov. He has many works in Chisinau and in Gallery "Tretyakov" in Moscow. He wanted to bring home the paintings and sculptures at his 75-year anniversary.
"It was very difficult to bring the sculpture here, it is more than a tonne and a half weight, but I managed to do it thanks to the Foreign Ministry, ambassadors accredited to Moscow. During one year I brought these sculptures, and now I'm going to take them back to Moscow", said Constantin Constantinov.
"I am surprised, I did not expect such a great activity. Art, form, author's attitude toward our land, culture. Here is a tradition, a modern and postmodern culture, he approaches simultaneously three styles, "says sculptor Iurie Canaşin.
Full of light are the illustrations made by Gheorghe Zlobin for Romanian and universal books.
"All these illustrations I made in the 80-90s, a peak period of graphic art. I am inspired, first of all, by the subject of the books I am illustrating, completing them with my imagination, colors, my ideas", said fine artist Gheorghe Zlobin.
Attending the opening of the exhibition were many admirers and friends of the authors, whose works will be exhibited at "Constantin Brâncuşi" Gallery until the end of the year.
