The challenge of summer for loving children to read

The Municipal Library "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" started a new summer challenge. For ten days, during this year's edition of the project for young readers, the 27 branches of the library are transformed into a laboratory of reading, exploration, play, creativity, with unique resources, through which children will get skills and competencies needed for functional learning. This year's reading route is about discovering Chisinau, the program combining reading with fun, reports Moldova 1.

The Municipal Library "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" has thoroughly prepared to receive the little readers in the reading rooms. The children say that they are ready to read new books from cover to cover and to discover the most interesting information about the city of Chisinau.

The title of the 2021 edition, “Read and discover Chisinau! ”, will provoke interest and will attract to the 27 branches more children who will have the chance to discover the charm of Chisinau just when the city will turn 585 years old from the first attestation.

"Children will be challenged to read for 20 minutes each day. This will be an exercise in which children will select any book on the shelf. They will choose either color or content and will find a more special place in the library where they will read quietly. They will then calculate how many minutes they read in this program. We believe that it is a trick of course that we apply to read during the summer," says the director of the "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" Library, Mariana Harjevschi.

The "Summer Challenge" program, traditionally organized in the 27 branches of the library, has reached its third edition.
