EU supports the capitalization of cultural heritage in Moldova

New opportunities to discover Moldova as a tourist destination, especially its cultural heritage, are offered by the cross-border Heripreneurship project, launched in Chisinau by the National Association for Inbound Tourism. The project, which involves six countries, is backed by the European Union (EU), Mesager reports.

"The project encompasses the heritage and the economy itself, because in the end the cultural projects already have a new trend, they want to combine the economic part, the business part with the cultural part, the heritage, so that everyone can benefit," said Tatiana. Lupaşcu, project manager.

Each of the six countries involved in the project: the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia focused on a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The key element of the Republic of Moldova is the carpet, and the main locations are the National Museum of Ethnography and the Craft Center "Rustic Art" in the village of Clişova Nouă, Orhei district.

"We are satisfied that we are involved in this project and we realize that only through work we will be able to preserve the cultural identity of our country", says Ecaterina Popescu, "Rustic Art" Center from Clişova Nouă.

Capitalizing on heritage through modern histories and technologies will include many activities.

"We will involve both the actors from the creative industry, the cultural industries, those who have a connection with the tourism industry and from all the countries participating in the project. We will have common tourist products, which will be promoted internationally ", said Natalia Ţurcanu, ANTRIM executive director.

"We can't go back centuries, we have to move forward, using new technologies, creative industries, but these creative industries have to be inspired by the real things. Only in this way, we will be attractive for tourists ", says Sergiu Prodan, Minister of Culture.

The project envisages the creation of digital applications for young people interested in discovering the heritage, the inauguration of several tourist packages common to the Black Sea Basin countries.
