The diaspora in Spain, Italy and Germany has sent about 40 tons of humanitarian aid to refugees

About 40 tons of humanitarian aid sent by the diaspora from Spain, Italy, Germany and Romania have reached Chisinau. The products are collected at the Reception Centre of "Moldova Film", located on the Hânceşti road in the capital. These will be sorted by volunteers and distributed to local authorities or refugee placement centres.


Humanitarian aid began being stored three days ago in a 750-square-metre warehouse.

The Secretary General of the Government, Dumitru Udrea, and the Minister of Labour and Social Protection, Marcel Spatari, mentioned that all the products go through the control and sorting procedures. "The products are donated by the diaspora to support refugees in Ukraine. These are sorted and will be distributed to the local authorities and placement centres in the country, according to the list of needs," said Dumitru Udrea.

According to officials, the aid, which is not sent to certain town halls or dedicated associations, will be distributed primarily to the districts with the most refugees. Thus, trucks carrying humanitarian aid started today to Anenii Noi, Ştefan Vodă, Căuşeni, Hînceşti, Criuleni.

In the last three days, at the warehouse on Hincesti 61 street, about 40 tons of humanitarian aid were received from Spain, Italy and Germany. Of these, today, the aid for the town halls of Drochia and Riscani was delivered from the warehouse.

According to officials, the aid, which is not sent to certain town halls or dedicated associations, will be distributed primarily to the districts with the most refugees. Thus, trucks with humanitarian aid started today to Anenii Noi, Ştefan Vodă, Căuşeni, Hînceşti, Criuleni.

The Minister of Labour and Social Protection, Marcel Spatari, specified that the aid coming from the diaspora is reported daily on the institution's website, where the up-to-date information on available stocks is placed. The placement centres can submit online requests for the required products, which are processed and delivered quickly.

Currently, in our country, there are 102 authorised placement centres, with a capacity of 9,215 places, of which about half have already been populated.
