The CCM will rule on May 7 on the loan agreement in the Russian Federation
The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova (CCM) will rule on May 7 on the loan agreement worth 200 million euros from the Russian Federation. All the submitted notifications were declared admissible and connected in a single file, Radio Moldova reports.
The deputy of the PRO Moldova parliamentary group, Sergiu Sîrbu, stated during the show "Room for Dialogue" that the CCM accepted the notification submitted by him, but this does not mean that there is a decision in this regard.
"We expect from the CCM an objective, impartial examination. We agree for such a loan, but it should be negotiated transparently, the interests of the state should be protected, there should be no discriminatory clauses, we should not find ourselves with private debts attributed to citizens and transformed into state debts," said Sergiu Sîrbu.
The deputy of the Socialist Party, Vasile Bolea, said, during the same show, that blocking the agreement is a politicization and an attempt to thwart the Government's efforts.
"As for the agreement with the Russian Federation, they claimed that the country's sovereignty and independence were being violated. It is just a simple politicization of the subject and the attempt to thwart the Government's efforts. If those decision makers block the financial support, then the state will be unable to pay to fulfill its obligations towards the citizens," Vasile Bolea specified.
On the other hand, the economic expert, Veaceslav Ioniţă, admits that our country is in a money crisis, and the money granted by the Russian Federation would be "a lifeline".
"The only problem that arises is that Article 7.2, by which the debts of private companies can be transformed into public debts (….) This agreement by, point 7.2, somehow reduces to zero the effort of the Parliament, because apart from the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, in the case of given that the Russian Federation can decide that Moldova's debts increase even more than the ceiling approved by the Parliament," mentioned Veaceslav Ioniţă.
TRM.MD recalls that last week the parliamentary majority voted on the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and Russia. On the same day, the Constitutional Court suspended the action, including the procedure for the entry into force of the law ratifying the Loan Agreement.
