The monitoring committee regarding the concession of the Airport has neglected several provisions, statement

The monitoring commission regarding the concession of the Chisinau International Airport has neglected the control of the State Tax Service, but also of other provisions. This was stated in a briefing by the chairman of the Commission of Inquiry for the analysis of the organization and conduct of the privatization and concession of public property (2013-2019), deputy Igor Munteanu, reports Radio Moldova.

"The monitoring commission totally neglected the control of the SFS that was made in 2015-2016, which attests that most of these purchases cannot be confirmed by documents. The audit of the Court of Auditors finds that out of 1.37 billion lei allocated through investments by Avia Invest, in the period 2013-2018, 1.8 billion lei should have been allocated to investments, unfunded ones were attributed to investments 210 million (…). Only in September 2019, the monitoring commission is set up for the first time after 2013, and what is clear from the documents presented by the concessionaire is that 90% of all the concessionaire's work was carried out exclusively from the revenue collected from the airport tax. Basically there were no own investments in the concession action, and the remaining 10% were taken from offshore,” mentioned Igor Munteanu.
