After 20 years, the Chisinau-Kyiv train route is relaunched

The Chisinau-Kyiv international passenger railway was relaunched on Sunday, after a 20-year break, Radio Moldova informs.

This race was called the "Victory Train", because the seven carriages of the set were painted by Ukrainian artists and represent regions of Ukraine, but also the resistance actions of the locals, said the director of the State Enterprise "Moldova Railway", Oleg Tofilat. "This train will run well, it will provide good connections with the airport. We intend to simplify the logistics to the airport, possibly, in the future, to Iasi, to Bucharest as well. We have the first train in Kyiv and I am sure that soon, after the victory of our brothers in Ukraine, we will resume the traffic to Odessa and to other cities in the neighboring country", said Oleg Tofilat.

Each wagon contains a symbolic image dedicated to the regions illegally annexed by the Russian Federation, said the Ambassador of Ukraine in Chisinau, Marko Shevchenko. "Each carriage in this train symbolizes a temporarily occupied region, and one of them was about the Kharkiv region, which is currently already liberated. I believe and I hope, and all Ukrainians know, without fail, that in a few months or in a few years all regions of Ukraine will be liberated. And I am confident that this train will really become the train of victory, all regions will be liberated and there will not be any wagon representing a temporarily occupied region", said Marko Shevcenko.

We remind that the train on the route Chisinau - Kyiv will leave for Ukraine three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
