Chisinau executive starts talks for a new program with the IMF
The Chisinau executive intends to start discussions for a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This will be addressed this week in the meeting of the IMF board of directors. This was announced by the head of state Igor Dodon this morning, reports Moldova 1.
"Chisinau government has fulfilled all its commitments towards external partners and this program is successfully completed. I want to mention that it has fulfilled its commitments without tax increases and affecting the lives of citizens. A meeting of the IMF Board of Directors will be organized on Wednesday and the successful completion of this stage of the program will be approved. Immediately after that, the Government of Chisinau intends to start discussions for the next stage, for a new program with the IMF", said Igor Dodon.
Igor Dodon also announced that on March 12, the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban will pay an official visit to Chisinau and will sign a statement on the Moldovan-Hungarian strategic partnership. According to the head of state, an important element of this meeting is the economic aspect, as Victor Orban comes with a group of businessmen, who are ready to invest in our country.
Also, a loan agreement worth 100 million euros is to be signed, in support of opening new businesses.
