Moldova is exporting more products. What are the main destination countries
Moldova is increasingly visible on the foreign market. According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in October alone, our country exported goods worth $ 352.3 million, which is by 19.5% more than in September 2021 and 41, 3% - compared to October 2020.
According to the quoted source, in January-October 2021 the exports of goods amounted to $ 2455.6 million, by 23.6% more compared to the same period of 2020.
According to the NBS, the main destination countries for exports of goods, which accounted for 88.8% of total exports were: Romania (26.6% of total exports), Turkey (9.7%), the Russian Federation (9.0 %), Germany (8.5%), Italy (7.8%). Between January and October 2021, three percent of exports went to the neighboring country, Ukraine, and to Bulgaria - 2.4%.
On the other hand, during the mentioned period, the Republic of Moldova registered more modest exports to countries such as Greece and France, 1.1% of the total volume of exports, the United States - 1.0% or Lebanon, where they were exported. 0.9 percent of Moldovan products.
Thus, exports of goods to European Union countries in January-October 2021, totaled $ 1507.2 million, which is 14.0% more compared to the same period in 2020,with a share of 61.4% in total exports, by 5.2 percentage less compared to January-October 2020.
At the same time, exports of goods to CIS countries in January-October 2021 amounted to US $ 372.3 million, or 22.0% more, compared to the same period in 2020, which is equivalent to a share of 15.2% in total exports, by 0.1 percentage less compared to January-October 2020.
