SA Moldovagaz will transfer $ 63 million to Gazprom

The Committee on Exceptional Situations (ESC) issued the first provision after Parliament established a state of emergency in the energy sector. Thus, until the end of today, January 20, SA Moldovagaz will transfer to the Russian Gazprom Concern the 63 million USD. The amount constitutes 50% of the cost of the contracted volume of natural gas for January 2022.

According to the CSE decision, the money is provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, which will make the advance payment to JSC Moldovagaz of the compensation of the price difference for the consumption of natural gas granted to domestic consumers for January-March.

The Ministry of Finance will carry out the financing according to the payment documents.

SA Moldovagaz will report monthly the actual compensations granted to household consumers, according to the approved regulation.

At the same time, the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) is responsible for monitoring online content that promotes fake information in the energy field, which affects the security of the state in conditions of emergency. According to the document, SIS will approve by order and make public the list of online content that promotes false news in the energy field, and network providers and / or electronic communications services, under this order, are obliged to block access to such sources.

The provisions are binding and enforceable and shall take effect upon issue.

The Parliament approved, during the extraordinary session of January 20, the Decision on declaring a state of emergency in the energy sector on the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova for a period of 60 days, reports TRM.MD.
