The health condition of the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili has worsened

The health condition of the former president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili has worsened, his lawyer announced. He claims that, following the examination, his client was probably diagnosed with tuberculosis, dementia and 34 other diseases, but there is still no verdict, Moldova 1 reports.

The conclusion of the British doctor who examined Saakashvili will be announced on November 18th. The defence attorney stated that the 54-year-old former Georgian president has serious health problems, which worsened during his detention, following two hunger strikes.

Saakashvili, the founder of the Movement for National Unity - today the main opposition party - was arrested a year ago when he returned to Georgia after an eight-year absence to support the opposition ahead of local elections.
