The Russian Foreign Minister accuses Chisinau of avoiding dialogue with Tiraspol and Moscow. Chisinau's reaction

New accusations against the Republic of Moldova from Russia, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, accuses Chisinau of avoiding direct dialogue with Tiraspol and Moscow, Moldova 1 reports. Lavrov claims that Moscow will make every effort to ensure that the interests of Russian speakers and Russian citizens from the Transnistrian region should not suffer. On the other hand, the Reintegration Bureau states that it wants a peaceful solution to the Transnistrian conflict. As for the rights of the ethnic Russians on the left side of the Dniester, the Chisinau authorities claim that their liberties are not violated, but in fact those of the Romanian speakers are harmed.

"We will do everything so that the interests of the Russian population in Moldova do not suffer. Let's not forget that in addition to Transnistria, in the Republic of Moldova there is also Gagauzia, which also claims a special status, already has elements of a special status. I think that the Chisinau authorities will do the right thing if they give up geopolitical games with the West and think about the people. At the current stage, we will insist specifically on this aspect", declared Sergey Lavrov.

Meanwhile, in a press release issued by the Bureau of Reintegration, it is mentioned that the approach of Chisinau regarding the way to solve the Transnistrian conflict has remained unchanged and that it is desired to identify a sustainable solution, which respects the unitary, sovereign and territorial character of the Republic of Moldova. Regarding the Russian speakers, the Chisinau authorities claim that their rights are not violated, because in several districts of the country, including the eastern ones, Russian is mainly spoken. Moreover, in the negotiations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, the language of communication and correspondence is still Russian.

"Chisinau's approach on how to resolve the Transnistrian conflict has remained unchanged and aims to exclusively promote the conflict through peaceful and political means, with the identification of a sustainable solution that respects the unitary, sovereign and indivisible territorial character of the Republic of Moldova. Regarding the mention of Russian speakers. As far as is known, their rights and freedoms are not violated in the Republic of Moldova. In several districts of the country, including the eastern ones, in the public and educational fields, the media mainly uses Russian. Moreover, in the negotiations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, the language of communication and correspondence is Russian," reads the statement of the Bureau of Reintegration.

The past few days, the alleged leader from Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselski, called the head of state, Maia Sandu, to negotiate on the "principles of a peaceful political settlement". He wrote a letter to Maia Sandu that he would have sent in mid-August. Maia Sandu later replied to Krasnoselski mentioning that the Republic of Moldova wants to resolve the Transnistrian conflict through peaceful and diplomatic means.
