Nicu Popescu: The Transnistrian regulation will be discussed at the OSCE Ministerial Council

The OSCE Ministerial Council will take place in the first days of December, during which the Transnistrian regulation will also be discussed, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, in a show on Vocea Bessarabia, reports Radio Moldova.

According to him, Chisinau authorities are interested to reiterate their support for the Transnistrian settlement process, an approach based on the recognition of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.

Last year, at the OSCE ministerial council, there were only two topics, on which all states found the necessary consensus to issue a statement. It is about the Transnistrian regulatory process and it was about a statement about climate change. We do not know to what extent we will be able to maintain this consensus this year, which would establish the absolute support of all OSCE member states for the principles of the Transnistrian settlement. Our interest is to reiterate everyone's support for our approach to the Transnistrian settlement process, an approach based on the recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity", said Nicu Popescu.

The head of diplomacy from Chisinau, Nicu Popescu, also stated that the war in Ukraine blocked the dialogue regarding the regulation of the Transnistrian conflict in the "5+2" format.
