German official: "The Republic of Moldova is not in the sights of Russian President Vladimir Putin"
The Republic of Moldova is not in the sights of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and NATO countries closely monitor the situation in the region. The statement belongs to Steffen Hebeshtreit, the spokesman of the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz.
The official also mentioned, exclusively for Radio Moldova, that the Alliance will not allow the Russian Federation to violate the red lines. Steffen Hebeshtreit also said that the Russian missiles that flew over the airspace of the Republic of Moldova do not represent a reason for panic for our country.
We remind you that on October 10, the Ministry of Defense announced the crossing of the Airspace of the Republic of Moldova by three Russian missiles. Shortly after, the Russian ambassador to our country, Oleg Vasnetsov, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, in connection with this incident.
The country's leadership qualified the incident as "an extremely serious one", stating that the violation of our national airspace is completely unacceptable.
