Modern study conditions at the Theoretical High School "Petru Rareş" from Soroca
The more than nine hundred students of the "Petru Rareş" Theoretical High School in Soroca have modern study conditions. The high school was renovated as part of the "Education Reform in Moldova" project, financially supported by the World Bank, Moldova 1 reports.
"The computer lab was equipped with modern computers. We have all the technical conditions to work, to make every effort to equip and train our students," said Ecaterina Andriuţă, teacher.
"I never thought that by working at retirement age I would be able to work with children on the interactive whiteboard. It's a huge plus for our high school," said Anastasia Costin, a teacher.
The modernization works were carried out through the Social Investment Fund.
"As a result of the project, the roof was repaired, the thermal insulation which is very important for keeping the heat. We have 30% savings after project implementation. The windows, the doors, the floors have been changed," said Dionisie Mitrofan, high school principal.
The renovation works at the "Petru Rareş" Theoretical High School cost about 15 million lei, money provided by the World Bank. At the same time, a financial contribution was provided by the Soroca District Council, and the Ministry of Education allocated five million lei for the modernization of physics, chemistry and biology labs.
