The festival "We live the Joy of the Resurrection" was organised in Drochia

Fairytale atmosphere in Drochia, where, for the second year in a row, folk ensembles from the region organised the "We Live the Joy of Resurrection" festival. The visitors had Easter music, traditional dishes, but also an exhibition of folk craftsmen, Moldova 1 reports.

"We came with some old Easter songs, which we picked up from Drochia district. Every time we participate in this festival with the greatest pleasure, here inside the Drochia council”.

"These are well-known songs, which glorify the tormentors of the Saviour, through what He went through when He was crucified, and let us live and be eternal."

"We will worship the one who endured mockery, crucifixion and resurrection for us to save us from grievous sin."

"Until the pandemic, even at the initiative of the archdiocese of Drochia, we held these festivals twice a year, at the birth of the Saviour and at the resurrection. Clearly with the pandemic, things are getting better. We have revived this activity," said Pavel Valuţă, parish priest of the "Assumption" Cathedral.

In addition to the Easter music, those present were able to visit an exhibition of folk craftsmen but also taste traditional dishes.

"We have traditional Easter with cheese, different baked leaven, pies. We tried to represent Sofia in particular, so what represents us," said Svetlana Banaru, director of the Sofia History Museum.

According to authorities, the event aims to promote Easter traditions and customs.

"It is a good opportunity to promote good understanding, peace, well-being and because the Easter holidays themselves are holidays that unite us," said Iurie Ostavciuc, vice president of Drochia district.

In the end, the participating teams received diplomas, souvenirs and cash prizes.
