Support from the Czech Republic for the intensive care units of the district hospitals
In order to increase the capacity of the emergency hospitalization in the regions of Moldova, the Government of the Czech Republic granted to our country a humanitarian lot consisting of 21 special beds for the resuscitation departments from the hospitals from Causeni and Calarasi. The aid also includes bridges for energy, as well as 21 bedside tables and tables for each bed. The value of the lot amounts to over 390 thousand euros. The first ten beds arrived today at the district hospital in Călăraşi, where 18 patients with COVID-19 are currently being treated, reports Moldova 1.
Natalia Cernobrovciuc says that a year ago she had a health problem and was hospitalized in the district hospital in Calarasi, and for a few days she was in the intensive care unit. If the medical act granted was appropriate, then the equipment left much to be desired, the woman says.
Currently, at the district hospital in Calarasi, 130 patients are being treated.
"All the equipment is given in accordance with the COVID-19 epidemic, for the serious patients who are admitted to our intensive care unit. We currently have 18 patients with COVID and one patient intubated in the intensive care unit. For us, the equipment is necessary," said Silvia Bobescu, the director of the Calarasi district hospital.
Functional beds and special devices to connect the patient in case of need to the artificial ventilation devices, as well as all the furniture are of Czech production.
"This humanitarian project aims to increase the health capacity of Moldovans, not only for patients with COVID, it is for all patients and is 390 thousand euros. The Czech Republic has provided 100,000 euros to reduce COVID-19 infection among people with disabilities," said Zdenek Krejci, the Czech ambassador to Moldova.
In addition to humanitarian aid, the Czech Republic continues to fund and implement several external cooperation projects for the development of our country. The value of projects financed annually in Moldova amounts to three million euros.
