Ungheni: A new bridge will be built across the Prut

A new bridge will be built over the Prut, at Ungheni. It will interconnect the Târgu Mureş Highway with the National Road R1 Chisinau - Ungheni, announced the Secretary of State in the Romanian Ministry of Transport, Ionel Irinel Scrioşteanu, on a social page.

"Under the document, the term of works execution is two years from the beginning of the works. The Government of Romania will ensure the financing of the construction works of the bridge and the access road, including the related infrastructures, located on the Romanian territory. The total amount was estimated at 40 million euros. And the construction of the access road and the related infrastructure on the part of the Republic of Moldova will be financed by the Government of Chisinau, with an estimated cost of two million euros ", reads the post.

The Secretary of State also mentioned the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania on the rehabilitation of the border road bridge between the two states, over the Prut River, between Giurgiulesti, Moldova and Galati, Romania, which has already been repaired in 2021, fully insured by the Romanian Government.
