Capital repairs at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History
The roof of the main exhibition block of the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History will be repaired, and the works will start this month. Secretary of State for Culture Andrei Chistol announced that the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research has allocated three million lei this year for the start of repair works.
"This project is the first step in rehabilitating the exhibition space of the oldest public museum in the Republic of Moldova, an institution with an exceptional ethnographic and natural heritage and which promotes traditional culture and values," said Andrei Chistol.
The total cost of the works amounts to over 6.8 million lei.
The building was built between 1903 and 1905 and is registered in the register of state-protected monuments.
