National Army: In the last 10 days, 14 explosive objects detected in several localities in the country
In the last ten days, the sappers from the “Codru” Battalion intervened in Ungheni district three times, in the localities of Negurenii Vechi, Pîrliţa and Agronomovca, where they found an 82 mm bomb launcher, a German anti tank mine, a grenade three artillery projectiles of 76 mm and 105 mm caliber, respectively. The explosive objects were discovered by the locals during the agricultural works, reads a communiqué of the National Army.
At the same time, the sappers team from the “Moldova” Motorized Infantry Brigade was called in Rezina and Falesti districts, where they discovered on the ground a cumulative anti-tank projectile of 125 mm caliber, a bomb launcher, 82 mm caliber and a perforating projectile, caliber 75 mm, which dates from the period of World War II. The explosive was destroyed in maximum security.
At the same time, the sappers of the “Ştefan cel Mare” Motorized Infantry Brigade, for several days, acted in Hânceşti district, Ciuciuleni village, where they neutralized an aviation bomb. The same team was requested in Puhoi locality, Ialoveni district and Revaca locality in Chisinau municipality, where it liquidated an 88 mm caliber artillery projectile and, respectively, two 85 mm anti-tank projectiles.
According to the senior officer of the Sappers Service, Captain Ivan Cornegruţa, the number of explosive objects detected in the ground increased due to the beginning of the agricultural works season. In the same context, the specialist urges the population to be careful not to touch the explosive objects and to notify the authorities immediately.
