The national program "European Village" has been launched
City halls can apply for funding and co-financing for the improvement of local infrastructure, the construction and renovation of schools, kindergartens, culture houses or children's playgrounds, sports fields, as well as for energy efficiency works, the presidency said in a press release, reports Moldova 1.
In this context, President Maia Sandu announced the launch of the national program "European Village". The total value of the projects is 470 million lei. An additional 300 million lei has also been allocated to sustainable regional development.
"These are concrete steps we are taking to modernise the communities in our country according to European standards. In the European village, people live well, they have tap water, a sewage and waste management system, they have straight roads and street lights, they send their children to kindergarten or school, they have access to quality medical services, they take care of environment and they can find a job or develop a business in their locality or region," says Maia Sandu.
Files can be sent to the Ministry of Infrastructure between March 22 and April 20. Applications for co-financing of projects from external assistance sources can be submitted throughout the year.
