What are the favorite tourist destinations of Moldovans

Egypt, Turkey and Bulgaria are the most popular destinations for Moldovans this year, but also the countries with the fewest restrictions on foreign tourists. However, the managers of travel agencies claim that departures abroad have decreased by up to 80%, and domestic tourism is becoming increasingly popular. Special travel offers in exotic countries will be available in the next two months, informs Mesager.

"Egypt has introduced the mandatory test for COVID-19 starting with September 1, in Turkey the trip is much easier, tourists have the same condition as before the pandemic,  the offers are very good, the prices are about three times lower than in other years, in Bulgaria a negative test for COVID 19 is needed. Also, the list comprises  countries such as Albania, Croatia, Belarus", said Mihai Ceban, travel agency manager.

Turkey is  the destination chosen for rest by Diana. The young woman wants to go to Istanbul. She says she respects all protection measures and is ready to comply with the quarantine regime.

"It's a bit complicated with the conditions of quarantine, but we keep the restrictions and try to rest, if necessary we will stay in quarantine"; said Diana, a tourist.

However, many Moldovans say they prefer to stay at home with their family and avoid traveling during this period.

"School starts,  the holiday has been planned for another period and for me it is too late "; "We have work here, this year we are resting at home, with the family," people said.

The list of countries for which the 14-day self-isolation regime is required upon return to the Republic of Moldova includes 53 states. Among them are Romania, Ukraine, Spain, Armenia, Croatia, France. Under the decision of the extraordinary national public health commission, the regime will enter into force on Monday, and the list will be updated every 14 days.
