Moldovans with expired passports can travel to 12 states

Moldovan citizens can travel on the basis of expired passports in 12 states, after confirming the recognition of the decision of the Moldovan authorities to extend the validity of passports issued by our country, reports Moldova 1 TV.

In the meantime, the Public Services Agency states that at the multifunctional centers without programming, only the applications for completing the passports within 24 hours are accepted, and the applicants must present the confirmation of the need to go abroad.

Among the countries that recognize the documents are: Latvia, Israel, the Russian Federation, Armenia, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Ireland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Serbia and Georgia.

"The number of countries is constantly growing. For citizens who have only the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, the new type identity card can be used, for travel to Turkey for example ", said the MFAEI spokesman, Daniel Vodă.

To complete passports, most people have made appointments online. The young woman says she wants to go to Bulgaria, a country that did not recognize the decision of the Chisinau authorities.

"We made an appointment for when we needed it and we came and submitted the documents."

"I heard on the news that there are no blankets, but we came."

"They gave us a ticket with a number and we came with it very quickly."

Requests are processed without scheduling within 24 hours, but additional documents such as a travel ticket, hotel reservation or other certificates are required. From June 1, the Government extended by one year the validity period of expired Moldovan passports.
