COVID-19 in Moldova: One person from the medical system died
The second death caused by COVID - 19 infection was registered in the Republic of Moldova. This is a 79-year-old doctor who worked in the emergency hospital. The announcement was made in the morning by the Minister of Health, Labor, Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu. According to official data, 177 cases of infection with the new type of Coronavirus have been confirmed so far in the country.
"Due to COVID-19 infection, a person from the emergency care system died, this is a lady who dedicated her life to the medical system, she was hospitalized on March 19. I express my condolences to the family and my gratitude for not only being in the front line, she was a hero for the health system, for until the last moment she was the one who saved lives and helped improve the health system,” said the minister.
The Minister of Health also announced that the health of eight patients admitted to the Republican Clinical Hospital is serious. Another 25 patients, in serious condition, are admitted to the "Toma Ciorbă" Hospital for Infectious Diseases.
On the evening yesterday, after the Exceptional Situations Commission meeting, Prime Minister Ion Chicu announced that the epidemiological situation caused by the new type of Coronavirus is worsening and several measures have been taken to immediately take effect.
