Construction of capital buildings in green areas, prohibited

Deputies voted to impose a ban on building capital buildings in the green spaces of urban and rural localities. A draft in this regard was adopted, in the final reading, with the vote of 58 deputies.

The purpose of the legislative changes is to stop acts of corruption and protectionism. Thus, the local public administration will be able to issue only authorizations for the location of the objectives and installations compatible with the green spaces, namely those for sports, games and leisure, or of the cultural-artistic objectives and mobile commercial units.

Also, the project provides for the modification of the Contravention Code, for the sanctioning of the deeds of construction or unauthorized location of the objectives on the territory of the green spaces, public property. Therefore, the Contravention Code has been supplemented with an article, which provides for fines for those who violate the law. The size of the contravention for individuals varies from 60 to 90 contravention units. Also, the persons with positions of responsibility risk fines in the amount of 210 to 270 contravention units, and, for the legal persons, the size of the contravention varies from 240 to 300 contravention units.

The draft law will enter into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.
