Infertility, the problem of many families in the Republic of Moldova / VIDEO /

One in four couples in our country is facing infertility! The causes are many, but thanks to advanced technology and studies, the success rate today reaches an average of 50%. Specialists warn: the sooner young families facing fertility problems go to the doctor for help, the greater the chance of success, Moldova 1 reports.

Mr. and Mrs. Ştefanco are in their second in vitro fertilisation procedure, after 17 years of using various treatments to conceive a child naturally.

"We did not despair, we are moving forward and I think everything will be fine," said Anastasia Stefananco, a patient.

"I try hard to support her, to be by her side and help her with what I can," said Adrian, the woman's husband.

Some causes of infertility are: vaginal infections, endometritis, male pathologies, abortions, stress, but also the fact that women often postpone the conception of a child, putting their career first, say specialists.

"The older the age, the worse the quality of the reproductive material. After 35 years, the reproductive capacity decreases every year," said Valentin Friptu, head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Medicine.

Stela Simcov took into account the doctor's advice to give birth as soon as possible.

"I gave birth to a 3,170 kg boy, I am a 22-year-old mother and my husband and I first decided to have a child and then a house, a career," she said.

I also met the Varvarice spouses from the capital with a little girl in their arms, extremely happy as they left the maternity ward.

"We are happy, I am glad that everything went well," said Roman Varvarice.

"We went on the process of creating a family first of all, the others came slowly afterwards, the family and the children are important", said Drăguţa Varvarice.

Experts say that if the desired pregnancy does not occur within a year, the couple should consult a doctor.

Official data show that if at the age of 25-30 years the success rate of in vitro fertilisation is 50-60 percent, then after the age of 35 the chances decrease significantly.
