Janis Mazeiks: EU has allocated over 800 million euros for the development of energy efficiency projects in the Republic of Moldova
So far, the European Union has allocated over 800 million euros to the Republic of Moldova for the development of energy efficiency projects, said the Ambassador of the European Union in Chisinau, Janis Mazeiks, Radio Moldova reports.
In the context of the European Sustainable Energy week, the official declared that the promotion of safe and renewable energy sources remains a priority in the context of the support given to the Republic of Moldova.
"The European sustainable energy week is dedicated to the energy transition. The European Union has allocated over 800 million euros to the energy sector. Among the initiatives launched is the creation of an energy vulnerability fund, our answer is the installation of solar panels and heating meters. The current energy crisis also affects climate change. To this end, the European Union is oriented towards accelerating the use of renewable energy. The European Union's renewable energy plan aims to reduce Russia's dependence on fossil fuels and rapidly advance the transition to green energy. The Republic of Moldova is part of this plan", said the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Janis Mazeiks
We mention that the European Sustainable Energy Week is marked on September 23-30. The priorities of this year's strategic initiatives focus on greening and digitization measures for a fair energy transition.
