Less ordinary mission for the firemen in Balti. The saviors shared bread to the inhabitants of the village of Valea Norocului in Sîngerei, who were isolated from rest of the world due to the snow. 11 families have benefited from the help of the firefighters, TV Moldova 1 reports.
"DSE Bălţi received an appeal from Valea Norocului village that the people could not reach shops to buy bread. We took bread from Sîngerei from Drăgăneşti and together with the mayor and social assistance distributed the bread to older people who did not have access to the store," said DSE head Balti, Lilian Botnariuc.
Locals appreciated the firemen's gesture.
Because of the snow, several trucks, a school bus and two ambulances were stuck in the snowdrifts. The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations intervened in 18 risk situations in the last 24 hours.
The rescuers' help was needed on the roads in Râşcani, Ungheni, Hânceşti, Şoldăneşti, Edinet, Soroca, Călăraşi, Rezina, Cahul and Chisinau. The State Road Administration announced that last night more than 580 workers with 340 machines scattered 1,300 tons of anti-skid material on the country's roads.
