Metropolitan Vladimir condemns the war in Ukraine and calls for peace
More than 40 days after the start of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the Metropolitan of Moldova, His Eminence Vladimir, came with a message condemning the violence and calling on the parties to sit down at the negotiating table and resolve all existing issues peacefully.
"More than 40 days have passed since the outbreak of the armed conflict in Ukraine, during which time we humbly prayed for peace and an end to the bloodshed in the neighbouring country. What we have seen so far is a terrible war that is mercilessly crippling not only the body but also the soul," reads the message of Metropolitan Vladimir.
At the same time, His Eminence Vladimir mentions that he found out about some BOM clerics, who absolutely unjustifiably urged the faithful to interethnic hatred and division. The cases have been documented and will be sanctioned according to the ecclesiastical canons at the church trial, the Metropolitan informed.
"Today, more than ever, we especially want peace and harmony between the Russian and Ukrainian people, as good neighbours, in respect for each other, in patience with one another, and in love.
We repeatedly call on both sides, the Russian side and the Ukrainian side, to sit down at the negotiating table and to peacefully resolve all the issues that exist," Metropolitan Vladimir's message reads.
