Tribute to doctors killed by Coronavirus
Tribute to frontline doctors who lost their lives to the new Coronavirus. On Holy Sunday, the square of St. Theodora Cathedral in Sihla was full of heroes in white robes, who came to commemorate their colleagues. Church ministers prayed for the health of medical workers who continue to work day and night for the health of patients. The doctors present at the religious service thanked the priests for this homage and urged the people to be as careful as possible, Moldova 1 reports.
"I believe that this service dedicated to the activity or to the doctors who today are on the front line with COVID is welcome and is a transition in the spiritual life for all Christians in the country." "An act of charity to support the medical staff during this difficult period of the pandemic. We, as doctors, believe that, with our knowledge and with the help of the Lord, we can get out of this impasse," said the doctors.
And the people present at the service wanted to thank the doctors for the work they do during this pandemic period.
"It's a holiday that we celebrate first of all at church and we want everyone to be as good as possible." "I also want to thank the doctors for their support and for everything they do for us, because they risk their lives." "Doctors are sacrificing their lives for our health, they are not giving back and they are putting their lives in danger, I think everyone should pray for our doctors, for all medical workers," people say.
The initiative to pay homage to doctors on Holy Sunday belongs to the priest Ioan Ciuntu from St. Theodora's Cathedral in Sihla, who says that good prayers and thoughts can support the medical staff during this difficult period.
"We thought about how big this Sunday is, Good Sunday and so is the size of a soul, a doctor who gives himself, who puts his soul for his neighbor, young doctors, nurses, doctors who all their lives go and they carried out the mission with the saints and obviously we and the church must be grateful too," declared the priest Ioan Ciuntu.
Holy Sunday is celebrated in the Orthodox Christian calendar fifty days after the feast of the Lord's Resurrection. On this day, in addition to the traditional church service, people put green walnut or linden branches in the gates or doors of their houses, believing that they will be protected from evil.
