More than 52,000 young people will vote for the first time in the 24 February elections
More than 52,000 young people who turned or will turn 18 on the day of parliamentary elections on February 24, 2019, will vote for the first time. In this regard, they will receive a letter from the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) at home, IPN reports.
"On February 24, 2019, parliamentary elections will take place. Go to the vote! Your first vote is the beginning of your journey as a citizen who cares about his future, parents, grandparents, friends, and why not your future children. The Central Electoral Commission team encourages you to exercise your democratic voting rights. But before taking this step, do not forget to inform yourself about electoral contestants and electoral processes. If you are informed, you will be a strong citizen. Being a worthy example for your generation! Vote! Your vote counts," reads the CEC message to young people.
The activity was organized within the project "Strengthening democracy through inclusive and transparent elections", implemented by UNDP Moldova with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development, the British Embassy in Chisinau through the Good Governance Fund and the Dutch Embassy through the Matra Program.
