More than ten thousand children will go to first grade this year

About ten thousand children from Chisinau will go to first grade on September 1. They will be divided into 340 classes from 141 educational institutions. The information was presented in a radio interview by the deputy mayor of the capital Angela Cutasevici.

"According to the methodology of enrolling children in the first grade, there are two stages of enrollment. In the first stage, all children who have reached the age of seven by the beginning of the school year must register without a competition. For the second stage, at the available places, the other children who have not yet reached the age of seven until September 1, but will reach the age till December 31, can come with a request," mentioned Angela Cutasevici.

According to the deputy mayor, so far, 11 educational institutions have completed the first stage of enrolling children.

"We are trying to find the possibility of expanding the spaces for the places that were not covered. Now we are in the evaluation of the school network, so to see how we make more efficient the spaces of certain schools that are below the coverage norm and how we replace the spaces for the schools that are overstretched," said Angela Cutasevici.

It should be mentioned that the children's registration is done only online, and in August, on the day of the test, the parents will present the whole package of documents required in the original. The exact number of children who will cross the threshold of the school for the first time will be known after all applications are submitted.
