Markets, shopping malls and the HoReCa sector to resume activity on 1 June

Starting with June 1, restrictions could be lifted for the markets in Chisinau and Balti, shopping malls, gyms and the HoReCa sector. International passenger transport could also be resumed. This was announced by President Igor Dodon after the working meeting with the President of the Parliament, Zinaida Greceanii and with the Prime Minister Ion Chicu.

The president said that the infection rate for COVID-19 had dropped significantly, reaching 0.89% in the previous week, and this allowed the restrictions to be lifted.

"The bans will be applied just for kindergartens and schools and for gatherings of more than 50 people, the rest of the restrictions we hope will be removed," said Igor Dodon.

The proposal will be submitted to the Extraordinary National Public Health Commission, which will take a final decision.
