Victor Chirilă: The Republic of Moldova must pay more attention to strengthening security
The Republic of Moldova must pay more attention to the strengthening of security, because neutrality cannot protect us from missiles - said the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Bucharest, Victor Chirilă, during a show on a private TV channel, Radio Moldova reports.
"Security must be viewed in a much broader sense, not only in the army, although the army was one of the areas that was neglected for 30 years in the Republic of Moldova and now, in times of crisis, all efforts are being made to prepare the army and get modern defense equipment. Before this conflict, I think we had, but we still have the lowest percentage of financing the army in all of Europe. This year the army's budget has increased twice, by approximately 18%, at the same time we also benefit from assistance from the EU", said Victor Chirilă.
Ambassador Victor Chirilă also said that the Republic of Moldova must also pay attention to energy security, which is very fragile.
