Veronica Micle Street in Chisinau could become functional

Veronica Micle Street in Chisinau could become functional. At least this is what the City Planning Center is proposing after a discussion with the inhabitants of the capital in this respect. People welcome the initiative and say that a pedestrian street would free up road traffic, but first of all it would embellish the city, reports Moldova 1.

I think there are really streets in the historical center of Chisinau, which requires pedestrian traffic. We are waiting, we have heard talks going on, and we hope that this initiative will be completed.

Representatives of the Urbanism Center claim that Veronica Micle Street should become pedestrian because of its location and historical monuments nearby.

"This segment is indeed a special one, parallel to Stefan cel Mare, it has architectural monuments, it is a quiet street, but unfortunately is used more like a parking lot," said the representative of the Urbanism Center, Maria Axenti.

In Chisinau, only Eugen Doga Street is pedestrian.
