National Day of Mourning on June 9 in connection with the funeral of the singer Iurie Sadovnic

June 9 was declared a day of national mourning in connection with the funeral of singer Iurie Sadovnic. The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, signed a decree in this regard today.

According to the Presidency, national mourning is instituted in connection with the passing into eternity of the famous performer and composer of light and folk music, promoter of national and cultural values.

According to the presidential decree, the state flags will be lowered in Moldova tomorrow, and at 12:00 the memory of the performer will be honored by keeping a moment of silence. The funeral ceremony will be broadcast live by the Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova”.

At the same time, public authorities, businesses and organizations are advised to refrain from conducting mass entertainment on June 9, and the editorial staff of newspapers, radio and television stations - to take into account the specifics of this day when publishing information.
