NBM Open Day: Visitors learned to check banknotes

They learned how to distinguish fake banknotes from authentic ones and had the opportunity to see the oldest and most collectible coins in the museum of the National Bank of the Republic of Moldova. Today, the institution opened its doors to hundreds of visitors, curious to learn about the money route in society, financial planning or how to make investments, Moldova 1 reports.


The youngest visitors were students from a high school in the capital, who were impressed by what they saw.

VOX: "Very interesting because I've never seen an exhibition like this before." "I was impressed by the money that was in the boxes and had different designs." "I managed to see some coins from other times, most of them are ours, but there are also from Romania.

Ina Scerbaniuc, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, NBM: “It is an open day on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the founding of the National Bank. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition hall, where all the commemorative and jubilee coins are exhibited ".

After a tour of the museum, visitors learned to check the banknotes.

 VOX: “Silver and gold coins. We show the children what was the first coin that was the first lion". "I came with students from the Faculty of Economics. I decided that in addition to the topics I study, the economic terminology will be useful and a visit to the NBM".

The event aims to promote financial education in society.
