Fighter Olga Popov won the gold medal at the European Cadet Championships

Women's struggles in the Republic of Moldova have not only a beautiful present, but also a tailored future. The representative of our country, Olga Popov, won the gold medal at the European Championships for cadets, in which athletes up to 15 years old participate, reports Moldova 1.

At the competition in the Croatian capital, Zagreb, the Moldovan defeated in the final of the weight category up to 46 kilograms the Italian Angela Crapio-Casarola with the score of 11:0.

Until reaching the final, Olga Popov, who is a student of the Sports School from Taraclia, defeated in a row the representative of Finland, Jessica Josefiina Touminen, the Turkish Nil Aktaş and another Finnish sportswoman Rita Eerika Rantonen.

Two other fighters from our country, Corina Bostan and Gabriela Rudoi, ranked 5th in their weight categories at the competition in Zagreb, 58 kilograms and, respectively, 62.
