The national premiere of the film "CARBON" took place at the "Nicolae Sulac" National Palace

The national premiere of the film "CARBON", directed by Ion Borş, took place last night at the "Nicolae Sulac" National Palace. The film was projected on the largest cinema screen installed in the Republic of Moldova, of almost 90 square metres. The event was attended by the actors of the film, the production team, creative people, as well as dozens of moviegoers, eager for a local product, Moldova 1 reports.

The feature film illustrates the Republic of Moldova, from the period of the armed conflict on the Dniester and describes the story of a young tractor driver who embarks on an adventure with many embarrassing situations, in which he collides with people's indifference, greed and stupidity.

Filming lasted 36 days and took place between August and October 2020. The actors mentioned that they had difficult moments, sleepless nights, but they are proud of the result.

"The local audience is here and obviously the reactions were much stronger. Until today, I didn't realise that I had taken a leading role", said the actor Dumitru Roman.

"I never thought that I would spend a whole night in the church and a whole day in the cemetery, with all my fantasies. To be honest, I didn't expect it to be so good", said the actor Viorel Cornescu.

"Ion knew how to find the key to every heart and we had arguments and cried and laughed. It was a wonderful job", said the actor Ion Caras.

The director of the film mentioned that the audience at home is the most important and he gave him the strength to go all the way.

"We had hard days of filming, we had periods when we wanted to stop, the moment we are experiencing today, this was our motivation for which we went forward and reached the end. We were so tired that we didn't understand it was day, it was night, it was day two, it was day 32, but we were a big team", said director Ion Borş.

"I was a witness from the very beginning, from the idea that appeared, from the pitting they did, trying to convince everyone around them that they know what they want to do. We have artistic forces and the most gratifying thing is that producers who take risks have started to appear", remarked the Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan.

The premiere gathered dozens of moviegoers who were pleasantly surprised by this comedy.

"It's a film about us, for us, it's a film about our habits, about our nature, about good and bad. It's a very subtle border between laughing and crying."

"I didn't expect the local cinema to create such a masterpiece, it kept us in suspense and created super positive emotions."

"The best production film from the Republic of Moldova that I have ever seen".

The film Carbon has been submitted for the Oscars 2023, in the "Best Foreign Film" category. The film can be seen in all cinemas in the country from October 6.
