Andrei Spînu: "We will not end up in such a situation where we disconnect the light"

The Republic of Moldova will not be left without electricity, and if "Gazprom" stops the delivery of gas to our country, then the accumulated reserves will be enough for a month. The statements were made on Friday by Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, during the "Buna Seara" show on Moldova 1 TV.

"I, too, am from the village and I know it very well. I lived even when the light went out and I did my lessons by candlelight. I want to assure people that we will not end up in such situations. We will not end up in such a situation where we disconnect the light. We will do our best not to get there", said Andrei Spînu.

If the "Gazprom" concern decides to stop the delivery of gas to the Republic of Moldova, this means the disconnection of the left bank. In this case, according to the deputy prime minister, our country will purchase 100% of electricity from Ukraine. "There is also the possibility of purchasing electricity from Romania, but currently the tariff is much too high", said Andrei Spînu.

As for the supply of natural gas, the deputy prime minister mentioned that the reserves accumulated up to now - about 35 million cubic meters - are enough for one month, in case "Gazprom" completely stops deliveries.

But for this, each of us must take small steps to save. "Let's turn off the light when we leave the room, let's insulate the windows and doors, let's turn the radiators to 19 degrees", said Andrei Spînu.
