ANRE decided: From October 1, Moldovans will pay 29.26 lei for a cubic metre of gas
From October 1, 2022, household consumers will pay 29.26 lei, including VAT, for one cubic metre of natural gas. A decision in this sense was approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) during the meeting on Friday, September 23.
TRM.MD recalls that, on September 19, S.A. "Moldovagaz" submitted to ANRE a request regarding the increase of the average tariff for the supply of natural gas to final consumers up to 26,675 lei per thousand cubic metres or 31.5% more than the current tariff.
Previously, the director of MoldovaGaz Vadim Ceban said that the increase in the tariff for natural gas is imposed by the increasingly higher purchase price paid to Gazprom. At the same time, he wrote on his Telegram page that if the tariff is not adjusted, then Moldovagaz will not be able to fulfil its contractual obligations.
From the beginning of the summer until now, the price paid by Moldovagaz to the Russian concern for one thousand cubic metres of natural gas has more than doubled. In June, Moldovagaz paid $880 for a thousand cubic metres, in July - $980, in August - $1,458, and in September it will pay $1,882.
Currently, household consumers pay almost 23 lei for a cubic metre of gas.
