It's official! Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be held in Great Britain

The European Radio and Television Union (EBU) and the BBC announced today that the 2023 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted by Great Britain. Previously, it was concluded that next year's edition cannot be organised in Ukraine, due to the current political situation.

The EBU and the BBC have confirmed that Eurovision 2023 will be hosted by Great Britain, due to the fact that Ukraine, this year's winner, cannot organise the contest, due to the war with the Russian Federation. For security reasons, the EBU examined a number of options together with the Ukrainian broadcaster.

As a result of the discussions, the BBC was invited to host Eurovision 2023, the 67th edition of the contest, as the United Kingdom came second this year.

"We are grateful that the BBC has agreed to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in the UK," said ESC Executive Supervisor Martin Österdahl.

The host city will be chosen in the coming months, after a tender that will be launched this week. The days on which the musical event will take place and the logo will also be communicated in the following period.
