USAID Administrator Samantha Power is back in Moldova
On April 6-7, USAID Administrator Samantha Power will pay an official visit to Moldova. Power will meet with President Maia Sandu to discuss how the international community can support Moldova and other countries that receive Ukrainian refugees.
The USAID Administrator will also travel to the Moldovan-Ukrainian border to learn about the situation there from humanitarian organisations. She will also meet with Moldovan citizens and community leaders who have mobilised their communities to help refugees in need.
Power will attend a roundtable discussion with journalists writing about the war and visit some local businesses to see the economic consequences of Putin's war on key sectors of Moldova's economy.
Samantha Power is coming to Chisinau for the second time. The first time was on November 16-18. Then, the Administrator stated that in the next 5 years, USAID would invest almost $33 million for the development of the digital economy in the Republic of Moldova. In total, USAID has invested over one billion US dollars in our country.
