This morning, on the way to enter the country through the "Criva-Mamalîga" border crossing point, the former democratic deputy Vladimir Andronachi was detained, regarding whom there is an arrest warrant. The announcement was made by the General Police Inspectorate.

According to the lawmen, Vladimir Andronachi was taken to the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.

The former deputy is considered a close associate of the ex-leader of the Democratic Party, Vladimir Plahotniuc, and is accused, in the "Metalferos" file, of creating an organized criminal group, fraud and money laundering in particularly large proportions, writes Radio Free Europe.

According to the Service for the Prevention and Combating of Money Laundering, he would be the actual beneficiary of the company that owns the "Naţional" hotel, with the value of the social capital estimated in 2018 at 5.5 million euros, i.e. over 100 million lei.
